Liisa Karintaus
Liisa Karintaus is a visual artist living and working in Helsinki. She works with painting and drawing, often expanding and deepening her expression with traditional and experimental painting methods, binders, and pigments. Colour perception, memory, material in use, and intuition form the basis of her work. The paintings move freely in her inner forest and in the twilight of memories. They are large colour events that simultaneously long for and create space. You can feel their surfaces open in many directions and picturesque spaces.
Karintaus graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Helsinki in 2018 (MFA). She has had exhibitions since 2001 in Finland and abroad. Her works are included in collections such as the State of Finland, the City of Rovaniemi, the Jenny and Antti Wihuri Foundation, and the Aine Art Museum.
