Marianna Uutinen

Marianna Uutinen (b. 1961, Finland) lives and works in Helsinki and Berlin. She graduated from The Academy of Fine Arts, Helsinki and l’Institut des Hautes Études en Arts Plastiques, Paris. Uutinen has exhibited at numerous institutions throughout Europe including Städtische Galerie Wolfsburg, Wolfsburg; Weserburg Museum of Modern Art, Bremen; the Moderna Museet, Malmö; Kiasma Museum of Contemporary Art, Helsinki; Ludwig Museum, Koblenz; Malmö Konsthall; and Kunsthal Charlottenborg, Copenhagen. In 1997 Uutinen represented Finland at the Venice Biennale. She served as a Professor of Painting at the Finnish Academy of Fine Arts in 2004–2008 and was awarded the Finland Prize for her distinguished artistic career in 2006.
